An insight into North East charities and community groups
We are delighted to report that we have now completed our second project for Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. We were recommissioned to conduct this postal survey in August 2016. The survey approached 5000 charities and community groups in North East England and Cumbria.
The main purpose of the research was to build a picture of how organisations and groups work. We wanted to find out how they obtain their resources and how they are planning to work in future.
The results will be used to highlight the extent and value of the work the third sector does and to advise national and local governments, health organisations and charitable foundations on how to effectively invest in the third sector.
“We are really proud to be a part of this established work” said Christina Lilley, project manager of the survey. “It was really interesting to get an insight into the work of numerous charities and organisations do and see how varied they are”.
“PCP Market Research provided an excellent friendly and efficient service. But in addition to the nuts and bolts of organising a complex process of surveying, they also offered very helpful advice on increasing returns from potential respondents. When the survey takes place again we will have no hesitation in returning to PCP” – Professor Tony Chapman (Professorial Fellow at St Chad’s College, Durham).
