Peter Pickersgill

Peter Pickersgill

Managing Director

All PCP work is personally directed by Peter. Born and bred in Yorkshire, Peter studied Maths at Leeds University. He started his career at Rowntree in York, using his statistical knowledge in modelling and forecasting. This led to some interesting appointments, not least as Chairman of the Biscuit, Cake, Chocolate and Confectionery Alliance’s Statistics Committee.

Peter has acted as a buyer, a user and a supplier of market research. He is also a former winner of the Market Research Society’s Special Award for Research Effectiveness. Peter has more than 30 years’ experience in both qualitative and quantitative research. He has a particular interest in applying statistical and modelling techniques to marketing data.

After managing an ever-growing team at Rowntree through international expansion, Peter was keen to return to carrying out actual market research. He established PCP Market Research in 1990. Leading the research team, he brings considerable expertise to any project.

Away from work, Peter is a member of Rowntree Hill and Fell Walking Club. He enjoys the theatre, attending performances at Opera North, York Theatre Royal and Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre. He also avidly follows sports, from cricket to tennis, squash to football and even international chess tournaments.
